hi does anyone have any tips on stopping the warning come up on the computer since fitting an led tail/stop bulb?

Hi,

Fit the correct bulb!

The can bus controller will not accept LED replacements as the current draw is different!

BOUGHT TT CLEAR TAILIGHT ,DONE THE SAME THING,SENT IT BACK,IT WILL REGISTER FAULT EVERTIME YOU SWITCH BIKE ON :(

Quote from Nippy Norman's site about his LED panel:

"The board also includes suitable electronics to avoid the Integral Brake System (IBS) system ‘thinking’ that the bulb has been changed/has blown and the tail light panel is FULLY compatible with the CAN-Bus wiring system used on this model."

Odd, I've had the TT clear let tail light on my 12 GS's for 54k miles without any faults. Wonder why the difference?

Have had both Nippy's LED panel and the TT unit on the back of my '04 12. No problems with CanBus for either. Current draw is balanced to match that of bulb.

However, Nippy's 'Red Baron' LED indicator panels with integral red brake LED's caused big problems.....!

Have the TT unit (clear lens) on my '06 GSA for the last few weeks without a problem :thumb

Units for 12GS / GSA are supposed to be Canbus specific. Possibly a fault on your diode (or whatever the dohickey that fools the Canbus is called :nenau ) Send it back for replacement :D

I had a similar problem with a rear led array (from NN).
In the end, I fixed it myself, it was a dry-joint (poorly soldered connection) on the (NN) led panel.
(The led panel contains an integral gizmo that kids CAN-Bus that a normal bulb is fitted. It seems to work fine because once, fixed, I the error has never re-occurred)

Ihave both too: No problems...?

:nenau

No problem

I have the Nippy Norman rear LED's and the indicators...........no problems at all :thumb over the last 12,000 miles, come to think of it no other problems either :clap :clap .......i'll regret saying that :D
Obviously you have a rogue bike, I should get rid of it and buy a more reliable one if I were you :D :D

sensible note

On a sensible note I did have a problem, caused by the NN lens cover leaking water which corroded the contact. the warning triangle came on. I cleaned the contact in the bulb holder and put draught excluder round the lens cover to form a seal. No problems since. :thumb

I have an intermittent problem with the NN led unit. Whenever the warning light remains on though (about 50% of start ups) it goes out after a couple of minutes. I may send it back.
