Rear mudflap

Has anyone tried fitting one of these mudflaps, or a DIY job, to the rear mudguard thing of an R1200GS? I've a Rear hugger in the post but wondered whether this extra mudflap would prevent the pillion/top box being plastered in crap.

Having followed the various threads on this forum regarding huggers and the recent delivery of my new GS, I gave in and opted for the one mentioned in this thread

Should get it in a few days time.
