Kiwi (or anyone), what are the tyres on your bike and how do you get on with them as an all rounder for on/off road.

They look the dogs nadgers and I want some.

Skippy.

TKC 80 and they are a great all round tire.

A few people have asked why I still have this fitted so I'm thinking of taking it off. Are there any drawbacks?
How many have already done this?

There's been discussion in the past regarding this so called crap catcher on the earlier Oilheads...but then why would you want to look there......:P

It's there mainly to comply with German 'Con & Use' Regs. and shows that they too have daft ideas....sometimes!

German law

If I were to remove mine, and then take the bike to Germany, am I breaking the law? Or does my UK registration excuse me in some way?

That's a good question, I'm taking mine to Germany in May.

Mudguard thingy

Hi Guys - How can I remove the 'post' mount near the caliper that the mudguard bolts on - I have tried mole grips but just scored the paint..

I would doubt it as your machine is registered in the UK...and it complies with the domestic regs over here so that's your story..;)

As I remember the 'post mount' is a tube with a bolt running through it.

I just undid the bolt and it fell off!

Nearly every mod is illegal in Germany (icnle lovely noisy race cans) as far as I know, and indeed there is a 100bhp restriction, or so Im told. But foreign vehicles visiting are exempt.

Nope my tube does not want to fall off - I reckon its either a press fit or threaded so any info appreciated

tube thingy

If I remember correctly the tube is secured in place by the rear bolt that holds the brake caliper in place.
hope this helps.

If you're 'having it off' tomorrow then my congratulations.

If it's that big an event it will surely be memorable:)

Can't see the point of the TT thing. The unsightly hole is the one left on the face of the drive casing and the TT thing does nothing for that.

They give you a complimentary dome-head allen bolt that hides the hideous gaping wound..........and the disc guard blanks off the other 2 pram-handle mounting points and looks rather sexy at the same time..IMHO.
