Rear Nitron Shock respring opinion

My previous 09 hexhead used to bottom out 2 up with luggage, I fitted the Hyperpro uprated spring but the bike was then too tall for me.
I then fitted the Hyperpro 30mm lowered spring but found that the coils were binding (at ride sag) and it only acted on four coils which made it very stiff.
I then sent the stock Showa shock to MCT suspension to be rebuilt and also have the compression damping increased. which sorted it.
I would have done the same with this bike if I had not come across the Wilbers at the right price.

HGVs use airsprings on trailers to compensate for the wide load range between empty and full. It's a shame we cant find something similar for bikes.

Air adjustable shocks have been on bikes for years. I had a VZ1600 that had them on the rear. Up to 25 psi if 2 up with luggage.
The Shocks were as expensive as BMW and a worse build quality, 20 miles of a rough tarmac road in Spain and there was oil every ware.

I had Monroe air adjustable shocks on a car. They were ordinary oil/gas shocks with a rolled over air bag like a tough gaiter between the metal shroud and shock top. They were really very good but were not coil-over shocks and served to boost the normal springs.

The mountain bike has a FoxPro air shock on the back. It handles the rough stuff so well it makes me look like quite a skilled rider. I'm not - so it has to be the bike.

It would be nice to see a miniature version of an HGV airbag shock for a mono shock bike. Who knows if there's enough space. Who knows what the pros and cons are. How about a larger size FoxPro shock?

Cheers for the input guys.
Drove over to Nitron yesterday and got a nice shiny new 180 newtons spring fitted to replace the original 150.
Re fitted it on the bike last night but not ridden it yet.

My Monroe shocks lasted for years. Only snag seems to be finding a monoshock version. Monroe list by car models. Very helpful.

After first couple of rides solo and 2 up without luggage I can report that the 180 newton spring fitted has sorted it.
Obviously its a bit on the 'sport' side solo but not worryingly so with the rebound and damping adjusted.
2 up without luggage and hardly any preload was spot on...felt really good.
Off to France on Monday fully loaded so I'm confident I now have enough adjustment to cope with that. We shall see...
