Rear shock 14k 2014 adventure

So last night my wife got on and suspension Shock sank so got back off went through settings found 2 helmet but still no rise (normally on ball of feet on this setting before wife gets on)
This morning still flat footed and went back to one helmet setting no change.
So has my bike's shock failed T M F style?also the electric box part moves side to side if you hold it is that normal?

Certainly looks that way, nothing moves on my 2017 ESA rear shock, and when you change the settings you see the bike move up and down, what happens when you change the settings with nobody on the bike, does it move.

The 'black plastic box' does move a bit and this is normal. The rest ain't.

Put the bike on the centre stand with the engine running. Have a look at the top of the shock, there is a silver ring above the spring. Now cycle through the suspension load settings whilst watching the sliver ring, you will see it move as you change the settings. This is the preload adjuster. If it ain’t moving it’s ferked.

When mine went with similar symptoms ,it was diagnosed as an internal oil leak within the rear shock , but before you do anything else check that the link rod on the load level sensor on the rear shock hasn't popped off at one of its ends

Mines going in to be replaced under warranty - 2016 GSA 8k miles

I bought a 2017, GSA.
From the off, the suspension would not adjust to pillion setting with the pillion on the bike.
Back to the dealers 3 times for diagnosis.
Eventually they fitted a new shock (not sure which components) and all is well.
