I have a 2018 1200 GSA lowered model on about 35k miles. Feels like the rear shock is failing. The back wheel is bouncing on every bump and seems to be getting worse every day. What is the best way to sort this please? New shock is v expensive. Can anyone recommend a refurb company? How difficult is it to remove / replace. Thanks in advance

Search 'Denzo' on here or Firefox racing, Keighley

Another reccomendation for Denzo from me. The rear shock is fairly easy to remove if you are used to working on bikes. Get a Haynes Manual.

Yet another recommendation for @Denz0 at T-Tech here.

Given the mileage and the fact that the bikes going to be off road for a bit doing the rear I'd be tempted to get the front shock done at the same time as it's probably going to need a service fairly soon if not already overdue. At least then you'll know both ends are working well plus it's also an opportunity to perhaps modify the springs both ends to suit your riding style, weight, loading etc. @Denz0 is a great guy and can advise on all the options open to you.

Trade the bike in before the shock completely fails and let BMW sort it out. 🫣

It's recommended to refurb the ESA shocks at circa 30k miles. So you're on the money with how long they have got you.

As above, i'd also get the front done as that won't be far behind when it fails.

BMW only warrant the shocks to 30k

A new rear with a goodwill contribution from BMW cost me £1300

as the others say

Denzo

T-Tech also modify the rear shock valving which has an inherent design flaw, my guess is your damping valve is jammed open as well as the general wear and tear to seals, shock fluid etc.

Lukasz (Denz0) will do a great job, I am sending him my 1250GSA shocks this Autumn/Winter at 22,000 miles to refurbish and modify.

Yep my 2019 failed at about 4500 miles but thankfully was under warranty

£1400 I was told to replace
