Can anyone explain how the remote pre load on the rear shock works? :nenau
Just noticed that the rubber tube type thing that runs from the turny/nobby thing  to the shock has been rubbing on the rear tyre and worn it through to half way:eek: (the rubber tube type thing, not the tyre):mmmm
Does this mean the rear shock is fecked :(
Need a quick answer please, as there is a shock up for sale in the other bit :thumb2

the shock is not fecked, but the rubber tube is, as far as I know the preload holds hydraulic oil, so if you could replace the hose and then refill the preload, then it should be fixed, though if the shock has big miles, then maybe your better of with a replacement:augie

Thanks for that, cant see any oil about anywhere, going to have a closer look in a minute :thumb2

if hose compromised the hydraulic oil will be pissing out , its under high pressure,
if shock soggy its more like the spring being worn.

check the adjustment on your spring adjuster (round notchy fing that should turn up and down with marks on the side for spring settings ) its prone to get stiff, a bit of lube should free it up.

the spring can be removed if you have the correct gear..ie a bloody great spring compressor.
