Just had the rear shock rebuilt, Showa none rebuildable (is that a word:confused:)
Its now fully rechargeable according to the chap who did the work, which would all seem to be good until I discovered it no longer fits the bike.
Where they put a recharge point on the top its catching against the shoulder around the top shock mounting point and hence is 10mm to low for the bolt to go through.

Anyone else got around this by drilling a hole in the shoulder to allow the recharge point to poke through or is that a REAL bad idea?

Had this problem after the shock absorber rebuild company in Wareham (can't remember there name at moment) did a Showa on my 1100RT. They put a blank in the hole they drilled and redrilled and mounted a new valve where it sat out of harms way in the 'tunnel' It took 2 goes to get it right.
Still have the pic I did for them so they could appreciate the mounting position.
It's not a problem as they only have to put about150psi of inert gas in.
No pic of shock but I seem to remeber that a 45deg angle off the centerline of the bike poked the valve in a space big enough to house it.(RH side of pic)

Thx for the pic, can't make head nor tail of it though :blast

Guess I'll just have to go down the same route and send it back, no chance of using it for the bank holiday now I guess.:thedummy

You're looking up the 'tunnel' formed by the frame where the shock lives to give you an idea of the space available. It's not rocket science just jet engine theory.
SHOW IT TO THE TWAT DOING YOUR SHOCK.

Cheers Dave, gonna have to ring John at Revs Racing tommorrow and have a chat with him and go from there.
