Rear Shock Rebuld

Hi all. My rear shock is totally shot after 28k miles. Has anybody had theirs re built? Is there any advantage of having a stronger shock fitted?
Your thoughts please.

Had mine done by All Bike Engineering in Londonshire. Good job and relatively cheap
