rear shock removal

this might be the numptyest question but while trying to remove my rear shock to fit a hyper pro spring the bottom bolt is hitting the chain guard and not clearing the shock body,
i cannot remove the shock because the bottom bolt will not come out far enough and it does not matter where the swing arm is
am i losing the plot or what do i do to get the shock out

Undo the top chain guard bolts, lift and the lower bolt should come out.

Once free you have to twist and drop out - it's pretty close fitting...
