Hi again
Does anyone else have probs with the headlamp beam being very high with a pillion on board ? Bike is an 1100GS 1999
The headlamp is set fine for solo, rear shock preload adjuster set to normal halfway setting.
Re set the preload to max when pillion in on, and the headlamp beam is blinding on coming tarffic and shining in rear veiw mirror of car in front.

Does this mean my rear shock or spring is getting tired ? It seams to soak up the bumps just fine, but must sag when extra loaded.
Ogh and before you ask, my wife is the pillion and not a bloater.
Cheers Nick.

Mine is the same. Don't worry about it.

Wunderlich (or is it Nippy norman )sell an modification that allows you adjust the headlight more easily.

But its £35

Cheers Guys

Have taken a look at Wunderlich and have found the adjuster, that looks just the job.
I am surprised though that the BMW shock when it is adjusted to max preload will allow the rear to droop that much, it must be real bad when bike is fully loaded with gear as well.
Nick.

I thinks it's just a characteristic of the long travel suspension.
I had a real problem recently trying to strap it down when on its side stand for a ferry trip. Just kept tightening the strap, but suspension didn't offer much resistance until it was vertical and liable to fall the other way.
