I have a question - maybe stupid.
My bike is an 40,000 mile 05 1200GS.

If I push down on the rear of the bike and let it bounce back I get a 'whoosing' noise from the rear shock - Is this normal?

What is this noise? - Is it the oil 'whoosing' through the shims? I would not have thought that this would be audible. Does the damper rod force air into and out of anything? - as far as I can remember it has behaved like this from new.

The full range of damping adjustment appears to work fine. When set to minimum the shock rebounds quickly and at maximum setting it rebounds a lot more slowly - when set in the middle it rebounds at a 'middling' speed. The spring preload range works and it seems to ride no differently now as it did when new.
