I've put a shorter shock on the rear of my wife's R80. also put thicker soles on her boots. So she can now reach the ground. :)

The problem however is that the rear shock is too hard and the rear hardly moves. I've had to repair cracks in the frame. Does anyone know if there is a solution. Is there a shock that I should consider or a mod.

No a taller wife is out of the question ! :)

Can you not do it by altering the preload or getting a softer spring?

which R80 - monoshock or paralever? R80R shock is a mod to the paralever for short of leg

I'm thinking of fitting an R80/100 R shock to my Paralever GS.
Could someone tell me the length of the R80/100 R shock please.

If the rear shock is so hard it causes cracks in the frame then clearly there's a fault with the rear shock. Have you dismantled it ie taken the spring off, to see if the damper actually works or has seized up?
