Heading to Germany for my hols & my rear tyre is half worn, do I change before I set off or get it changed in Germany when it really needs done ? ? ?

I say later, Germany isn't the third world, tires are very easy to purchase and have installed here... no need to waste whats left on your half used tyre.

Change it. Keep the old one. When the new one is worn out, put the old one back on.
yes but why waste your holiday trying to find a tyre somewhere unfamiliar to you,its a no brainer,sort it before you go and enjoy your tour,simples.

I lived in Perthshire, for a year before I moved to Germany for work... visited a few times...
I miss Scotland, hopefully in 3 years time i'll be moving back... unfortunately i didn't own a motorcycle when I was living there... next time i definitely will!
