Heading to Germany for my hols & my rear tyre is half worn, do I change before I set off or get it changed in Germany when it really needs done ? ? ? :blast

Now or Later

I say later, Germany isn't the third world, tires are very easy to purchase and have installed here... no need to waste whats left on your half used tyre.

where are you going in Germany? I live here....

Kind Regards,
Mark Ritchie

You own a bike that costs over £10k new, ride in kit that costs £100's, costs around £150 a service, will be spending about €100 a day on food / accommodation / beer, paying €30 a tank of fuel, and you're asking about whether to change a tyre that will cost about £100 to change, and you've already had £50 worth use out of it :blast

Why waste half a tyres life as others seem to be implying
The bike was made in Germany
You probably could trust someone there to change a tyre

yes but why waste your holiday trying to find a tyre somewhere unfamiliar to you,its a no brainer, sort it before you go and enjoy your tour, simples.

I can help,

if your coming through Lower Saxony, near Hannover.. let me know, i'll phone ahead and sort it out for you.

Kind Regards,
Mark Ritchie

EDIT: BTW, I am from Australia, but my father is from Old Meldrum in Scotland, emigrated in 1955 though..

Thanks for the offer Mark :thumb2 but I'll change it before I go. Oldmeldrum has grown since 1955 :flag

I lived in Perthshire, for a year before I moved to Germany for work... visited a few times...

I miss Scotland, hopefully in 3 years time i'll be moving back... unfortunately i didn't own a motorcycle when I was living there... next time i definitely will!

take care, safe journey, and if your passing through this way, shoot me a PM, Beer is good in these parts.

Kind Regards,
Mark Ritchie
