Rear view helmuts

Saw them at the Munich show 5 or 6 years ago when they first came out.
They were about £400 then , unfortunately the quality was not worth the price. they were a £100 helmet with a £300 gimmick fitted.
Bit of a shame as the inventor was a canny lad and the idea is quite a good one

Is there really a benefit?

Having made do with a couple of mirrors for the last 42 years the only benefit I can see is that I might have been able to see the look of abject horror on the face of the silly bint who careered into the back of me at 30mph when she realised that at the time she should not have been tuning the stereo/sending a text/phoning a friend/trying to find something in her handbag.
Would focussing up to see the rear view and then down again to the front not
be more time consuming/distracting than scanning nearside mirror -
road ahead - offside mirror - road ahead - nearside mirror etc.
Not having tried one this is only my personal view.

I wondered how it worked - explained here:

i was shown one a few years ago.
didn't even bother trying it "on road" - just on me head. while stationary.

dont bother - the view is comparable to looking through a 4"x1" letter box.

lovely idea / not well executed.

oh well.
but,
if there's ever a "mark two" model - i'd certainly give it a chance. :nenau

I phoned them this week. No retailers appointed yet, but price is likely to be around £250. The updated version which has an adjustable optic is still finishing manufacturing and likely to be in the UK in a couple of months or so.

Will initially be full face only although flip front will probably follow at some point.

Looks like a good idea to me but I think it's wait and see. According to the guy I spoke to it's one of those "once you've had one you won't want anything else" products. I guess he would say that but I think I can see where he's coming from.
