Folks

The rear wheel on my GSA has no balance weights from new although there are some on the front.

I'm about the change the rear at home for another Tourance and wondered whether I had a one off perfectly mounted rear tyre or they're all like that. I'd imagine the rear is fairly tolerant to balance unlike say a sports bike.

Thx

The last two Trail Attacks I've had fitted to the rear have been bang on for balance on the rear and like you say it's not a sports bike

If you've been happy with the balance with the old tyre its unlikely you'll notice any difference with a new one. I've only ever had issues with balance on a front tyre and only bother to static balance those.

Just had my fifth tyre on the rear, the last four have been Dunlop Trailmax TR91, this is the first time weights have had to be put on.

I guess it's only me who thinks it's funny that someone called Old Wobbly is asking about wheel balancing :D

My tyre fitter puts the rear on a dynamic balancer because it's quicker than static balancing. I've got wrights on both wheels.

Very Good Mav and I hope it's just in the name then!!

I'll fit the tyre and give it a go.
