Rear Wheel Cover for Triple Blacks (and other)

For those with more money than sense, a new farkle for you.

Simple enough to fit but didn't come with any fitting instructions so I thought I'd check with Vines on the torque setting, rather than wring its neck off or else it fall off. Settings are: initial seating 10nm, wind off, then 15nm.

And yes, the dealer (not vines) did use a big grey weight to balance that rear wheel - gonna ask if they can't swop in for a black one!

Cheers, appreciated. Photos probably don't do it justice, tbf. I know from experience that the inner bevel is susceptible to dulling, so it took my fancy (blue greased the inners before fitting).

I bought this one from Germany and then matching valve caps off eBay. And agreed- more money than sense!!! The BMW one looks great and tidy up the rear wheel nicely.

Another tip on fitting. The left side / nearside is a cap with spreader splines, large washer and built-in receiving thread, the right-side/offside is the bevel and spindle. The right-side/offside comes with a shallow plastic/rubber ring that sits underneath the cap. Seat this first before inserting the cap/spindle and threading on to the receiving thread.

Is it easy to remove once it’s been fitted? Still need access to the hole for my Abba sky lift.

I'm not sure that something like this is designed for frequent removal. Removal should be relatively easy, in that it's simply a T50 on the right-hand side cap to unscrew the cap and spindle, and you can then use a round tool to push/tap out the left-hand side cap. However, the left-hand side cap has a metal spreader/retainer to hold it in place when the right-hand side is tightened. It might not be so easy to put it back in and/or you may find that it weakens after a time. It's not like the fork protectors that, say, you buy for the front forks and which simply unscrew and then cleanly pull out.

You may find that it's not a problem, but if I wanted access to the hole on a frequent basis I'd think twice about it. I think I would cancel the order, tbh.

I have a wheel cover fitted to mine. For the Skylift I just use a ratchet strap from the bobbin on the bottom bar to the rear foot peg. It works just as good.
