Well apart from waiting on my new Shock Factory rear shock my PD is ready for the TT, thought id spanner check everything today and give it a clean.
I checked the torque on the rear wheel nuts and GT85'd the rims and spokes .
Now while I was moving the rear wheel forward and back to do the cleaning of the rim I noticed a slight clunk on the initial uptake when the wheel starts to turn. No free play at 6/12 and 3/9 o'clock and the wheel turns freely with no other noises and is nice and smooth.
Question: is something lose or it it just the initial uptake of the FD ? :nenau

It happens with both forward and backward revolving of the wheel, but feels like its just taking up a small amount of initial free play in the drive.
Normal ?

It is fecked and needs selling

I reckon its just the initial take up of the drive

It looks great now!:D amazing what a bit of GT85 can do.

That what it feels like , but wasn't sure if its normal.

Go and waggle your airhead rear wheel

Could be a sign of wear on the final drive splines, I had this on my K75S and it eventually led to a complete absence of drive as the splines had stripped completely, mind you this was at 105,000 miles. Cost £95 to send the shaft away and have it resplined and has been as good as new since, now done 129,000 miles.

Normal...just ride the feckin' thing ! :D

Got my paranoid head on now !

It's just at the start of turning the wheel in either direction , like its taking up some slack .

I'll dig the Kalahari out tmrw and see if that does it . :rob

The bikes showing 26k KM and judging by its condition I'd say its about right so hoping its not fecked as I'm suppose to be going to the TT on it in two weeks ! :duno

Kalahari rear wheel rotation free play is there, but nothing like as much as the PD!

You need one of these, less troublesome than the bike for rocking.:thumb2

In the rocking stakes the Kalahari is the little one and the PD the big one. :D

Actually they are both same size, one is nearer than the other and has a safety rail added, but is same size. Here is a useful scientific guide to perspective which may be handy for you :aidan
