When fitting an Ilmberger hugger, does the plastic spray guard thingy need to be removed or is it just a personal choice??

Hi left mine on and then had bmw service it. they said take it off as is can hit at bottom of hugger and damage it .So took it of the shock still stays nice and clean. hope this helps .

Do you mean the spray bump guard at the rear of the wheel, or the rear shock cover ?????

Don't expect your bike to stay immaculate just because you have the Ilmberger fitted... But it helps a bit....

Thanks for the replies.

Ilmberger recommend removing the rigid black plastic rear shock cover because of interference with the hugger so this I'll do.
The part I'm referring to is the spray bump guard at the back of the rear wheel.

I see in the picture that you've left your spray guard on and Hodgkins was informed by BMW to remove it.......

I think he may have been referring to the Shock cover, not the rear spray guard
