Just done 3.500 miles in the Dolomites & down to the South of France .
Waiting french side for the next train I get the call go to push the bike backwards it goes so far then solid .Try it three or for times rolls same distance locks up again so car beside me moves so I can ride out to the barrier & while waiting to load spin the wheel on the centre stand & get this intamitant clinking sound sounds like the spacer disc behind the wheel .Any way think sod it if I hadnt have stopped wouldnt have noticed it .Get home 150 miles later found the cause of the noise.

Well did ya guess a bloody back spoke busted letting the nipple fall inside the brake side of the hub so thats what kept picking up & locking up .

Now is this a common fault bikes an 03 1150 gs & the only off rode was the odd tea stop in a laybye. :nenau

Rare

Very rare in fact, the spoked wheels are designed for rough roads and will absorb a lot a punishment, are you sure you didn't hit any holes ???

Only needs something to get thrown up into the wheel, if it hits the spoke hard enough, it'll break. Ye kanot defy the laws of pyshics Jim
