Just received a spare set of 2007 rims for my 2008. They are planned for off road duty.

For ease of shipping, they came disassembled.

Can anyone point me to helpful resources for assembly, including torque values...?

Also, I see the 2007 disc bolts are round headed, while the 2008 bolts are flat heads. Any obvious reason for the change...clearance with the fork?

Many thanks in advance, as always...

The wheels with round head disc bolts mean the disc brakes 4mm closer together than the discs that use flat head bolts.
This is because of a change in the way the discs are mounted.
I ran the same setup and I had to make up 2mm thick spacers to move the brake calliper inwards when using the older style discs, so that they ran central in the calliper.:flag
I have since sold the old style discs and now use discs with the flat head bolts on all my front wheels.

The service shop staff my dealer confirmed that the 2007 rim w/ brake rotors will fit on the 2008. They did not mention the need for spacers...I'll have a look when I install.

They did mention there could be more brake squeezing using the older rotors as the newer, free-floating design is quieter.

I can live with that off road...
