I have been looking at a hydraulic bike lift. I already have an ABBA stand for the GSA, and an original EasyrizerRed. They aren't really suitable for servicing the bikes on, and the Tiger Cub is so small. I have been looking at the bike lifts and these two seem popular:
1. Draper https://www.drapertools.com/product/37058/hydraulic-motorcycle-lift-360kg/
2. Clake https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/cml3-hydraulic-motorcylce-lift/

The Sealey looks too small for a GSA. Has anyone had experience with this kit, or would recommend something else?

Bill

They are both too small for a GSA. They will do it. But they will wobble and it will take some pumping. I've had and used plenty just like them.

I fitted out a workshop a couple of years ago for a shop. I found where PRO-BIKE get their £3000 lifts from.

Yes, with the VAT they are a fair bit more expensive. But these are full workshop quality electro-hydraulic. An incredibly sturdy and powerful lift. They will also go far higher than the ones you posted up.

I have exactly the same lift although mine is painted black with a Pro-bike sticker on it and I paid twice the price for the thieves to paint it. Its been in daily use for ten years and never been anything but excellent.

I can second the quality of probike. I have a pneumatic one.

I have a Sealey MC454, it easily takes a GSA, I had my GSA on it a few times 👍
Rated to 450 kg

That looks a good quality piece of kit. Not really show that I can justify an extra £1000 with VAT & delivery.

Exactly that. Save a grand on a cheap lift and it may cost you £10,000 when your bike is upside down on the floor. Or even worse, on top of you.

I used to have a Machine Mart lift as a second ramp. I had a 1200GS on there. Boxes, engine bars and a full tank. The foot pump was crying. It took 100 pumps to get it up. The whole lift would swing and sway. It was the most nervous tyre change I'd done.

The bench I use now (same as the link I posted), goes up to my chest almost. It makes a massive difference compared to the cheaper lifts that barely go up to your thighs. And it's solid as anything.

Probike; expensive but worth it in the long run. It weighs a quarter ton on its own with lifting ranges up to around 800kg depending on model. Had one nearly ten years with no issues, lifted my GSA no problem when I had it and will lift my Indian Roadmaster (412kg dry) with ease. There is also a full range of accessories available; sliding tie down eyelets, wheel chock, tool trays etc that you can fit to them.

Only down side; once it’s in place it’s not moving again, so you need ample space that it can be positioned permanently.

I am on my second Machinemart Lift and both have been excellent only changed as my mate req a lift and i
wanted the air hydraulic one, both have had GS and GSA bikes on for days on end also Harleys up to 1690s
mine has a bike up in the air on it 95% of the time so thoroughly recommend them .

I have one of these

It’s 71/2 years old now has been utterly reliable and lifts everything from the Harley to the GSA.

That does look like a solid lift, the requirement for compressed air is just adding another layer of complication.

I have one of these:
Very sturdy

Looking at the reasonable auto mech services prices, I reckon I’d rather pay slightly more for a 3500Kg two post vehicle lift and fabricate my own bike platform for it and thus be able to work on cars, vans and bikes from the one device.

When I eventually retire and we relocate/downsize, I’m gonna need a bigger garage !

I'm coming around to thinking this could be the lift to go for. Could you tell me if it's easily slid out of the way when not in use, please?

Easily, no ! It's professional, industrial equipment. It's fecking heavy. Which is why it's so stable. And why you can raise it to chest height. Not bollocks height like the cheaper ones.

If it's unloaded and raised to hip height, I can slide it across a smooth concrete floor. One end at a time.

I consider myself fit and able. My wife wouldn't be able to move it. And she teaches woman's fitness.

So ideally it lives where it lives. If you're really sensible and own the building, you could dig out a 4" pit to lay it in.

Now that's really living the dream.

This one looks good value compared to some of the other heavy duty ones suggested here. Shipping costs are not outrageous although it is heavy. It works well manually (two foot pedals) doesn’t need compressed air.

Doesn’t give a UK option for delivery that I can see

That certainly looks like a great half way option. Proper box section built. I can tell it's a good one. Looks great 👍

Looks like a foot pump model. That's no fun with a heavy bench. Also compressed air version I think?

The Automotech and probike are electro-hydraulic.
