I have a scala rider headset and a zumo 550. Im looking for a A2DP bluetooth transmitter which can be connected to the bike power and also the audio out from the zumo (via the 3.5mm wired jack). Then use the stereo bluetooth to my headset. This will allow stero mp3 to be played on the zumo and transmitted to the headset with reasonable quality (I hope).

Does anyone have any recommendations for this A2DP dongles?

Did you ever find anything as I'm looking for the same thing for the wife's bike.

Sony make a blue T dongle fir their mobys, about £25,with built in radio,3.5 stereo jack out and micro USB plug for charging,if it will pair this might work, will try it over the wk end with my 660,just a thought.

I've found plenty of A2DP transmitters but not able to find one that will auto power on with the ignition. In fact many of them won't even work whilst charging although some do.

Because it's going on the wife's bike I'd ideally like to mount it out of sight (e.g. under the seat) but that obviously won't work if it requires you to manually power it on every time you want to use it. I'd like something that I can just tuck away that will come on with the ignition for her if possible.

Sena do a device called the SM10 that will work whilst charging but not auto power on - bit of an oversight on something designed to work on a bike. They also do an SR10 which is designed to interface with PMR radios - this will auto power on but won't do stereo audio. Shame they don't do something that is a combination of the SR10 and SM10.

Check out the Justop BTR006 which is a bluetooth receiver website www.justop.com I purchased it following a discussion with Justop as I have got myself a BMW Motorad Navigator IV they said it would work.Unfortunately the device is being picked up by the satnav but it wont connect. Garmin have also advised that it should work so I am waiting on Garmin getting back to me with probably a file. It however pairs with my iPhone 4. It's cheap £16.99 + PP so if I cant get it to work no big loss money wise.

It may fit what your looking for.

Thanks anyway, but unfortunately that's a receiver not a transmitter.

The device you've mentioned will receive audio that you are sending to it over Bluetooth and connect to a line IN on a stereo to play the music through the stereo's speakers.

What I want is something that takes a line OUT from an audio device and transmit it over Bluetooth so it can be received by the wife's Scala G4. I specifically want something that can be powered from the ignition and that will automatically turn on when external power is applied (i.e. when ignition turned on) so that it can be hidden out of sight under the seat.

Justop do a transmitter but it can't be used whilst charging and therefore can't be rigged to work with the ignition on the wife's bike.
