Cheers for the Mountain Warehouse info, I am just trying to locate a 'friendly dealer/stockist' who stocks EDZ. I did buy their Yeti fleece but actually had to buy from Amazon unseen because I couldn't find a stockist.

For anybody still looking for base layers I just got a set of 100% Marino wool from Trespass. Both the box and the labels say its all Marino and the best part is they were 50% off. Should have been £57 and £47 was £28.50 and £23.50. I have had Trespass fleeces and stuff before and it was always pretty good kit.
Both Go Outdoors and (in particular) Decathlon do good base layer thermal kit - Decathlon "own-brand" Wedze X-Warm Flow Fit out-performed Snow & Rock branded kit skiiing in the Alps last winter (my mate black-bagged his Snow & Rock base layer - said it wasn't worth the effort required to bring it back to the UK!) Have also used my Wedze base layer kit on the bike and whilst sailing - really does keep me warm. Difficulty with Decathlon is they stock according to season - skiing kit tends not to get re-stocked after December, not until the following September/October. Pricing is reasonable - long sleeved top and "long-johns" cost about £40 / £45 the set (or there abouts).
Ummmmm.....Decathalon. Now theres a quandry. Exceptional value for money or cheap crap.
Have only used them for sailing kit (for the kids) and only the once. Still have a Spray top, a base layer and a pair of gloves in use a year later - everything else fell to pieces (wetsuits, boots) or just weren't useful (fleeces, mid layers).
Not convinced they are complete crap, but wont drive the 17 miles to that shop again.

For sailing all my outer layers are Musto HPX Goretex - not cheap by any means, even with discounts, but great for early and late season sailing (ditto overnight passages). I've never been disappointed with Decathlon base layers or micro-fleeces though, used over maybe 10 years or so. Not tried their Tribord outer layers - nor likely to, based upon your experience!
