Looking for a long trail or link of trails to do but need some information.

I know of the one through Portugal but it might be a push to do with the time available.

Spring time.

Are there any others a bit closer?

Bike is not suited to a lot of road work but have a van to get to the area and back.

there's obviously so many of them your all thinking about which are best... :D

I think you'll find some people have to work and he rest are in the lingerie department of Debenham's panic-buying inappropriate underwear for their wives.

What do you mean by 'long'? There's quite a few in the Italian alps, but rather depends on your definition.

When I say long, I'm hoping for say 5 days of riding with minuim road work between any sections.

A known loop or stretch of some kind, nice and scenic.

A good flowing journey rather than scraping around trying to link up unknown sections using guess work from maps.

And surely any sensible GSer will have already bought their wife some hard parts, a garmin or bar risers. Perhaps even a set of panniers if she has been really good:augie

Squid, I reckon you're best getting into advrider.com euro section. Read some of the posts there about riding in different areas, how the areas are treated and how trail riders are treated.
In some countries in Europe riding unsurfaced roads is illegal, others there are restrictions and some it's free-vend. Research where you fancy going and ask for advice, make a plan and include any time limits you have.
You may land lucky and recieve an invite to a ride, if you do, I recommend you take up the offer. Go with an open mind and join in with the craic.

Timpo, there are two or three of us going but rather than decide a location then possibly struggle to find a quality route I wondered if there are any 'known' ones which will decide the destination for us.

Portugal has the track down the centre, the USA has the Trans American Trail,

Was perhaps hoping there is a lesser known but worthy trail in France /Spain etc.
