best brand to wear for all round use and perhaps off roading, looking at bmw-rallie 2pro,street 2 and hein gericke, rally 2 and cruise suit. any suggestions will be a great help.

The rallye 2 suit is wicked ive used mine
almost every day for 2 years in alsorts of weather ranging from
the blistering heat if southern spain to the wet and cold of wales
and is still sound i would deffinetly buy another.:thumb2

the BMW savanna (dodgy spelling) is also good very hard wareing spent 20 days in mine plus used everyday for work covered in allsort of sh*t threw it into washing machine with BMW magic cleaner came out really well. It's also slightly cheaper and more adjustable than rallye2 jacket incase you get the urge to wind into beer and pies.

Ive got the Rallye 2 Pro suite. I think it is great. In all conditions it has performed excellent. 40 degrees and minus 5. The boots however (Rallye 2 pro) im not so sure about. You loose all feel of the bike. Breaking is bad and selecting gear is hit and miss. I did have the gear lever adjusted, which did make a difference, but not much.
Overall Rallye 2 Pro :thumb2

Have a look at Hein Gericke TRG Rallye jacket and trousers, Using mine for nearly a year with no probs, also you can get a full outfit for the price of a bmw jacket. More money for other toys.

please dont tell me you wanna have matching Kenwoods for that bike-comm system you posted in BikeCommunications ;)

Riding suit

I just bought the HG Tuareg Gtx suit. It cost the same as a BMW Rallye 2 Jacket, and is substantially similar. Goretex inner suit, and high quality outer gear. Seems great so far. Left me enough cash to also get a helmet, boots and a GPS! I also have an eye for a bargain.

no such thing...

there is no such thing as waterproof gear.......I have mentioned in another post, what i have put my bmw savanah gear through and ive mentioned how it saved my ass however if we are to call a spade a spade........You try doing hard yards in gear, take a few spills, ride truck loads of k's and the fact is it dont stand up.....Last year in europe i ended up buying wet weather nylon throw overs(in Wein) to stop the rain as my bmw stuff leaked like the proverbial.....

I have tried to get the HG kit, but they dont seem to make it for stumpy fat blokes!

I have a Dainese fabric suit that done me ok

well you could

get yourself along to the peterborough bmf show and get a set of last seasons frank thomas gortex gear for £40 jacket & £40 trousers
wear it one season and then do the same again
I'm a marshall at the show and so I get in a bit earlier than the public
this approach works for me

chers

I haven't taken any tarmac spills in my Streetguard 2 suit (although I have fallen plenty of times off-road :o ) and that suit is definitely waterproof - 150 miles in pretty much non-stop rain and not a drop came through :thumb2

Double v expensive... but you get what you pay for
