As the title says I'm after a decent tyre gauge. Halfords seem to have a few but a couple of reviews have said that some are not accurate.

So what gauges do people use? (apart from ones at petrol stations)

There was a time when Ride magazine rated the Halford's one above all others:confused:

ive always used a halfords digital type gauge, cost me about £20 i think and seams pretty accurate when i compare it with the different ones my mates have got what cost loads more :)

I was going to suggest the TPS on a 1200 until you mentioned reliable:blast

I've an old dunlop all metal gauge that's been in my jacket pocket for 25 years. Seems to be pretty accurate. Can't find many these days that are all metal and I don't have much fail in the plastic ones, figured the heat etc would be likely to distort them.

Digital is probably the way to go these days.

I have the motorcycle one with 90 degree angle for ease of reach on the valve.
Only thing it only measures psi...

I have a similar one with Avon branding. Simpler the technology the better. No batteries or LCD to go wrong and seems to be accurate when comparing to calibrated gauges at tyre depots.

Mine dates back from the 70s when my uncle had his own haulage business and received freebies from reps.

If I lost it then I would go for a simple pencil type one.
