I'm bored of replacing H7 bulbs and it looks like HID might be the way forward.

Can anyone recommend me an HID kit for my 2010 GS? Ease of fitment, good instructions and decent quality are more important than rock bottom price.

There are tons on Ebay, but it's pot luck whether they fit properly and work, so I thought I'd ask. :)

Contact Les Wassall, from this parish.

Fantastic lights, that are a staight fit, no mods required and really work.
He does both main and dip beam (and I believe spot lights depending on how far you want to go) :beerjug:

I have his low AND high beam kit. Excellent quality. Brilliant instructions. Les is having problems with his website at the moment.

Motorbike Adventures also do them on here.

I haven't used their kit so can't comment, but those that have used them seem more than happy enough.

And then there's FANUM.

But I think he only does EXTRA lighting (spotlights, foglights etc etc).
Again, I haven't used his stuff, but it looks :drool :drool

Les is your man :thumb

I am installing one of his kits on Tuesday into a customer's bike, superb quality and he really knows his stuff!

Everything else I've seen in comparison hasn't come close with regards to quality.

Another recommendation for Les. :beerjug: I had an oddity with my dipped headlamp when it was just over a year old and his assistance was immediate and comprehensive.:clap:clap:clap

Yes, I can't see anywhere to actually buy anything - just lots of pics of bike tours.

Les has some problems with his site, as Miff said.

He's in the process of swapping his host over to resolve the issue, but I do know he's still actively selling his HID kits still

We don't do HID kits....we carry them in stock, but Les was doing them here way before us, so I won't do them here.

Give him a call, or PM him.....:thumb2

PS Les now does the fast-on ones (I can't remember the exact name) which get up to full power almost immediately.....get those :thumb

That's Motorbike Adventures site, yes.

Consider that you'll need to mount the ballast and igniter somewhere. Les does a very neat bracket to put them under the beak.

Here the nice plate that comes with Les kit.

I will fit the kit sometime...:blast

Just wanted to add a testimonial for Les Wassall and the HID lights I bought from him last month.

I'd been thinking about buying HIDs for my 08 1200 GS for some time and so contacted Les for some advice after reading this thread (I found him very helpful and prompt with his replies) - after emails back & forth eventually I opted for the full kit - both main & dipped, 50W ballasts with main bulb "fast bright" and dipped with ceramic core bulb, all at 6k temperature.

Everything arrived a couple of days after paying (replacement BMW light caps drilled out and burners mounted already) and instructions for fitting.

Fitting was relatively simple, and they make a huge difference now they're fitted (I can actually see where I'm going in the dark now!)

So basically I'm one happy bunny, and wanted to share in case anyone else is thinking about HIDs for their bike

Thanks Les :beerjug:

Bought my kit from Les about 5 years ago. Still works without problems:), haven´t replaced anything yet. Easy to install using the brackets made for your specific model.:thumb

Don´t hessitate to change from normal to HID.

HID's

Another vote for Les. pay your £12 and then you'll be able to pm him.
