I've been to buy a new battery today and thought I might upgrade to a gel type but the guy in the battery shop ( not bike shop ) was on about the cables/leads might not reach/ fit is this tosh? should I just get an oem lead acid replacement anyone know where there is a good deal to be had :nenau

The genuine BMW gel battery is hard to beat. It may seem expensive, it comes with a two year guarantee, but they last way beyond that. :thumb So spread over it's life they work out the cheapest option.

Point taken from the dealers then or where?

First one I had lasted six months, replaced with out question apart from a lot
of removal of the urine!. Second one been ok, had a period after not being ridden for six weeks (on ferry) but now seems to have made a good recovery, always has optimate connected.
