Hi Guys,
I am looking for a recommendation of somewhere I can take some friends for a really good breakfast somewhere around or between Gatwick and Edenbridge. Our friends are coming over from Berlin for a weekend in December and they arrive at 8:00am on Saturday morning so thought we could take them somewhere good for breakfast before we go to Hever Castle.

Cheers

David

Gutbuster at Gatwick!....

Hi David....
If you don't mind somewhere that is rough and ready, but a superb value for money, genuine 'Greasy Spoon' breakfast, then on the north perimeter road (actually westside) of Gatwick Airport (follow the signs for North Rendevous Point) which is the straightaway to the long term car park off the roundabout outside of the North Terminal entrance (making sense so far?).... As you get to the top roundabout (carpark entrance) take your 1st exit and then 1st right, you will see what i can only describe as a terrapin hut, which is known as the 'Flying Pan', you don't generally see many members of the day to day public in there, but there is nothing stopping you.... you will find that it will be full of chauffers, taxi drivers, air side baggage handlers and Policemen!.... but it will be one of the nicest breakfasts to be found in Sussex....
Best of luck....
Geez....:thumb

Gutbusters in Sussex....

Hi David,
Only me again!.... If the Flying Pan sounds a little too rough and ready, pop down the A23 to the A272, head westbound to Cowfold then in the village take 1st left at the roundabout towards Henfield where after about 2 miles you will come across the 'Chalet', a favouite haunt for bikers particularly on weekend mornings....
If you really want to impress them, go south on the A23 all the way to the junction with the A27 just north of Brighton and head west to Hove, get down onto the seafront and locate the lagoon at the entrance to a road called Basin Road South, this road runs for about 2 miles westbound on the seaside of the power station where you will come across, ' Carrots Cafe', run by a very good acquaintance of mine. The breakfasts are phoenominal, albeit a little more expensive than the 1st 2 cafes I have mentioned, the setting is idyllic being directly on the beachfront with nothing but water between you and the very nice French people!, this is also a very nice restaraunt in the evening!.... All this in sunny Sussex and still with in a fairly short drive to Hever Castle....
Have a nice day and a very nice breakfast!....
Regards....
Geez....:clap
