Recommend software to create interactive maps

I'm looking for something that I can use to make a route on a map move. For example - a red line moving from London to Birmingham. I want to incorporate it into a video or slide show using something like Windows Live Moviemaker.

Can anyone recommend a simple bit of software (preferably cheap!) that would do the trick?!

I'm using a Windows PC - no Mac I'm afraid!

Google maps/earth has a 3d/helicopter feature - more details here. If it does what you want, then some sort of multiple screen capture software to record it? Sorry, not a regular windows user any more so that's my limit!
