I have a 2008 GS with ESA and all the bits and SW motech lower engine bars.

I only learnt that the bars would prohibit the use of a Remus set a few weeks ago.

Can anyone recommend a suitable Header and exhaust set up that will fit with the bars?

I have seen some adverts for a Staintune ehaust set up that claims to fit and gives an etra 5hp plus increased torque through the rev range.

Anyone fitted this set up?

All advice welcome.

Cheers

SW Bars / Akropovic headers

Rang Nippy Normans and they said Akropovic is ok --- bit expensive though.

I'm thinking about it as I have SW Motec crash bars.

I'm trying to go the other way. Bike arrived with basic BumWee engine bars and I fitted Remus headers OK. I fancy SW bars for better protection, but have been told they won't fit.

I see 2 styles of R1200R SW bars and have had correspondence from supplier with original SW diagrams. Now down to me to risk buying SW bars and trying them for size.

The R1200R bars SBL.07.606.100/B look like the would clear Remus sensors - if they fit GS12

The GS12 bars SBL.07.606.100/S look like they wouldn't clear the Remus sensors

I'm running a full BOS system and Motech bars - it's an '05 bike but i can't see that it should make any difference (BOS do quote a different exhaust for post 06 but that's to do with the centre stand which changed around then).

Do a search on BOS in thisa section, lots of good reviews.

Can't pm you because you aren't a member yet:augie

I supply Stainless steel Keihan headers which will fit with all crash bars and are considerably cheaper than Akro or Remus and a better quality:thumb

They give an approx 5 bhp increase but the main benefit is more low down torque and a much better throttle response.

Call me on 07766554069 if you want more info.

+1 for Keihan headers. I have an 08 GSA bought new last May and it has now covered 16500 miles. When purchased I ran it for about 3000 standard and then bought and run with Remus headers and end can. I ran the bike like this for the next 10000 miles and suffered intermitant stalling (very ocasionally) and to be honest the noise done it for me in the end along with the constant bangs on over run when on it. Any way bought and fitted the Keihan headers along with the standard can and their is NO real power differance between the two set ups but of course a good increase over standard, the bike is smoother and has only stalled once since fitting. It also IMHO looks much better with the balance pipe across the front and I also belive this is needed for these bikes. But that's just my opioion. Also for me the sound is better and no over run poping but I am proberbly showing my age with the last comments. All the best:beerjug:
