Bizarrely, the kilometrage is almost exactly the same as on my Basic when I had the speedo replaced just before the 1-year warranty ran out (the damping was virtually non-existent).

I had heard from a German friend that prices were stiffening over the last year, but this is still ambitious.

It seems that all German Basics are festooned with extras, mine must be uniquely 'basic' in having an R100R sidestand and nowt else, other than part time luggage frames.

I met a couple of Germans on holiday a couyple of years ago up in Exmoor. He was on a Basic and his wife on a PD. said he had another Basic.... still in the crate, never even been put together... What would that be worth

It's got a different sub frame that takes the smaller less practical seat from the mono apart from that and a few small cosmetic differences it's the same bike.
