I've searched and found some bits and pieces regarding this Dutch add on but some of the posts were within the 1200 area and I wanted to narrow the audience.

Just looking for some 1150gs(a) user opinions from those who may have tried this.

My limited experience with it is some marginal performance improvement and about a 10% decrease in fuel economy. I've just had it on for 3 fills ups and the average outside temp has been about 45 F.

I'm not a real aggressive, hard on the throttle rider so if it's unlikely that I will realize any benefit from this I'll flip it. I love farkles but they have to do something for me.....

Thanks...:augie

Hi Ron. Many moons ago, I found myself poring over some 60+ pages of comments on the Recyliser-do-dad, on the NLs version of this site.

It seemed to have been something of a Site cooperative effort (if memory serves - and it doesn't always).

Anyway, mention was made of the 'Accelerator Module', a more compact version (components fitted within connector shells), made by Marc Vernackt, over the border in Flanders.
This was the one I went for, and, as you mention has received an extended play, over on the Modern Section.

On my 1150, the 'rideability' is greatly enhanced - 3rd gear can be used where before only 2nd would do. It's possible that fuel consumption has increased, but if so, it's very slight. I think this depends more on the make-up of routes you ride. Lots of fast: roads-hardly a difference, all back roads: could be more painful.

I'm fairly certain that I've read discussions here on altering the fuel/air mixture because it is set very lean by BMW to meet emission demands.

The only reason I'd be interested is the claimed smoother running (with the mileage, attention to valve and throttle adjustments, mine is smooth but you can never have too smooth IMO). Are you saying that this claim about being smoother is not noticeable?

Thanks for the reply Bryn,

I too got a headache pouring over the pages dealing with this mod. Just when I thought they were targeting on my model the thread got hijacked onto a different bike or module.

The Recyclizer I received last month is quite compact, 6" pair of wire with the resistors (or whatever they are) within the connectors.

My bike was running fine before so if I don't end up with a benefit it'll go.

I must admit to being a little surprise in the drop in mileage....8-10% is considerable for little return at this point.

I have removed the Cat on my bike and replaced the CCP with the Steptoe mod.

The difference the Acc. Module made was instantly noticeable.
ie: In town (50Kph): 3rd now easily covers it.

I looked into a NL, then a Belgian unit. Later a Danish one appeared on the market. But they all use the same principle. One or other might be slightly better in this or that particular circumstance - but they all should work.

Perhaps it's time to contact the Rec'r. people?

It seems to me that you might

I think the plan is to wait until it warms up a bit more, as I've read that the benefits of these devices are not as noticeable in colder temps, and then top up the tank and keep track of the fuel economy. Then after a couple of fill ups remove it and continue to track the mileage.

I don't mind a drop in 1 for 2 miles per gallon but if it's 7 or 8 hrmmmm....

Well good luck with it all! I don't what the cloggies behind your module are like to deal with, but Marck (Accelerator Module), was happy to answer questions / queries etc. I wonder whether you've got the right one for (sans cat) your set-up.

I don't tend to proof read what I type, but I noticed my last one was a bit dis-jointed. T'was late. :rob

I've just taken the accelerator module off my 1150 as the bike was running funny the other day, that turned out to be just fussing over nothing but I decided to try it without the module for a bit and see if I noticed the difference.

all I can say is I wont be putting it back on anytime soon, it was running smoother and pulled just as hard without it in place.

the most noticeable difference was it's gone from the exhaust popping when the revs drop to about 3000 to when they drop to about 2000.
