Saw a new looking red 1200 GSA today on the A171 Road heading towards Scarborough from Whitby around 130pm

Just wondered if it was anyone on here????

A171 today

It was I, and a great ride I had. York, Whitby, scar, York and it still says there are 240 miles left in the tank. needed to get out before all this snow comes.

Is this the first time one of these sort of threads has actually come up trumps?

Your bike looked good, keep thinking I should of gone red instead of magnesium:blast

BTW I was in the big Police van coming the other way (in the drivers seat not the back I hasten to add!!!!):D

Ned, are you by any chance in SRMRT?

think i remember seeing you. take it you got yours new then if you chose colour. I like both but the red was shops demo and it seemed best value at the time. had it about 2 months now and no regrets

Yeah got mine new at Jeffries with premium pack fitted, had to wait a couple of months for it but it was worth the wait

Just wish I could stop spending money 'farkling' it

How are you? you a gs owner now then? the last bike i think i can remember you having was a thundercat or something like that. Am i right???

got the luggage and it had an autocom on when i bought it, which her indoors likes and good for the ipod. Nothing else planned for the time being, but have been thinking about sat nav, read good things about the zumo. would you agree??

The Zumo is great but the reliability isn't!

I'm on my 2nd unit in 14 months but I hear some have gone through 4 or more!!

My initial unit had a very easy life with only occaisional fair weather use and it still totally packed in after 11 months.

The warranty sorted out a new one which I suspect is actually a refurbished one so all things considered I couldn't really recommend Zumo.

Hi Ned
Did you happen to go through Thornton Le Dale on your ride from York,a Red 1200gsa came through as i was having a coffee.
I had a great ride out also,it was a lovely biking day,but the sun was a pain on the way back to Beverley.

Hi Ned, I'm fine, how are you and the family? I've had a 12GSA (magnesium, the fastest colour ) for a few months now, the Thundercat went a few years ago when I was doing stupid commuting miles and dragging all that callout kit everywhere - the bike got so little use that I sold it on.

If you want to get together for a ride out if/when the snows go away just let me know!

P.s. - my Zumo's doing fine and has had a good few knocks and dunkings and works well with the Autocom.

family fine, got 3 kids now, 9,5,and nearly 1. hence the need to take up biking to escape. a ride out sometime would be good. if i do invest in a zumo i might need your I.T skills, not much better than i used to be, amazed i managed to reply on here really.

not me, so there must have been at least 2 red gsa's out that day.Did go through Pickering then up onto the moors to Whitby. Must admit the sun visor in my lid gets lots of use so never bothered me that day. would be on my list of things to look for in a new lid.

not a glowing report then. glad i joined the site as info like this never gets printed in the mags when they test them. Andy e seems to have had no problems tho. is he the lucky one ?

Congratulations on the latest addition to the family! We're going away tomorrow for a few days but I'll get in touch when we're back and see if we can arrange a get-together. I get quite a bit of free time mid-week these days if you're still on the same sort of shifts.

I wonder if some models of zumo are more prone to failure than others? I got one of the cheapy models that doesn't come with bluetooth. Be interesting to know if the problems are with the higher-end models or if there's been a couple of duff batches floating around.

It must be a big faulty batch :D

Go to the 'My Zumos Dead' pages but make a cuppa first as there 48 pages to read!!

Have a look here
