Took it out from Mansell's in Jersey. Was supposed to ride it yesterday but it was a monsoon and everywhere flooded but today was dry and sunny.
Unfortunately the demo bike did not have the electronic suspension adjustment so seat height was relatively high. Just pulling it off the side stand it felt a bit heavy. As soon as it was rolling the weight disappeared.
The bike had a total of six miles on it so obliously everything was still tight. I never thrashed it at all but I was impressed by the torque and the quality of the gearbox.

The bike felt light but everytime I looked down I saw the massive width and my brain kept thinking that it should feel heavier than it did. Unfortunately there is no opportunity to ride off road in Jersey so difficult to judge how it would feel.
I did manage to ride it up the course used or the famous Bouley Bay Hill Climb, I was nowhere near the time Greg Mansell set on his recent record breaking run on his 170bhp 1300 GS. I told Gregg this was due to wet leaves on the road.

Lovely bike and I'm seriously considering one to replace my Harley.

This coming Sunday, I will be lining up alongside Greg for the Twisty Sprint. I'll be on my old faithful R1100GS. I've fitted road wheels from an RS model with slicks and tyre warmers.

I did a test ride on a 1300 GS with ASA and the electronic suspension a few weeks ago. ASA was great, a game changer I think. Auto suspension also really good - you don’t notice it and really feel sure footed when stopping. However, overall the 1300 GS felt a little cramped for me. I’m trying the 1300 GSA next week and if that goes well plan to order the triple black ASA with electronic suspension and riding assistant. For 1st March delivery.

Auto suspension also really good

The automatic ride height is indeed excellent, but the most impressive part of the new suspension for me is the variable spring rate

The suspension feels perfectly balanced one up, two up, loaded or not, it really is a giant leap forward from previous versions (y)

I ticked every box, except for the adaptive ride height, As I didnt need it. Mine is also primed for 1st march. Think it will be a popular choice.
