Battery died on my 07 1200GS, I changed in for a similar Yausa model this morning and she fired up straight away.... Took it for a spin and all was fine till about 20mins and the red exclamation(ABS) light lit up.... I pulled over and turned it off and on and light was extinguished....

5mins later back on and couldn't reset, I continued the ride for about 25k assuming an ABS fault.... Once home I tried to disable ABS but no joy....

I'm guessing me changing the battery might have introduced a snag??

Only odd thing with battery change was the crowd I bought the battery from never shipped nuts and bolts and the old ones wouldn't fit so had to pop off for 20mins to the local motor factors.... About 30mins total the bike was not on any power...

Any ideas guys?

If the battery isn't touching anything and nothing's touching it causing a fault/false grounding etc etc I'd unplug it, leave it for an hour, and plug it back in, see if it needs resetting....again.

I don't know anything about ABS sensors/fuses/etc but someone on here will.

The abs is sensitive to voltage , the dead battery may have been the result of a charging fault, check the charging and make sure the battery leads are tight, the bolts may have settled as you mentioned they didn't fit well,
Re trace your steps it may be a simple fix,,

I changed batteries a few times. Bike was without power for 24 hours. Did not cause my ABS to light up. Might be an ABS failure...?

Check out the ABS and servo motor brush replacement threads. Using google with "UKGSer" in front of your search string is better that the site search.
My money is on the ABS motor. However, a voltmeter which can be hard wired to the bike costs £5 to £10. That will show if there is an excessive volt drop on engine start.
