Parked up after a short 2 mile run from work and could smell burning, with smoke from under the bike. Had a quick look, and the cat was glowing red-hot. Not having used the bike much (approx 300 miles), I have to assume that this isn't normal. It was hot enough to make the tyre go tacky in the vicinity!

Any ideas? Standard at the mo, but I've got a Y-piece and Remus to go on (sooner rather than later, I reckon).

Just going outside to see if the garage's still in one piece.....

Check the throttle cables are seated properly on the throttle bodies as this can cause it. But usually the bike will be running like a bag of poo on tickover when they are not seated properly.

Both seated OK, although the left hand throttle cable is a fair bit 'tighter' than the right.
Took the cat off today; nothing rattling around, and doesn't seem blocked. I'll chuck the y-piece on later and see if I can melt it.
