I would like to refit my original exhaust on my R850GS. I will need some welding as the previous owner had to use a grinder to remove it. Anyone knows how much I should pay approx. thanks.

Will do, I am taking the exhaust on Tuesday to a bike mechanic, will see what he says to me. Could be reasonable or could be obscene (called a welder 3 weeks ago to weld a handle from my lawn mower and he want £20, the handle brand new cost £14 - should not have take him more that 2 mins. Go and figure)

And a one paragraph letter from a solicitor takes about 2 minutes, and how much would that cost. Go figure. :augie

Don't talk to me about solicitor.

I May come across as a tigh git, but just trying to save a quid or two so I can spend it on something else. The thing is I don't mind paying for services but if it is exhorbitant it is a no-no. Solicitor's fees are a big rip-off too, but unfortunately you don't have the choice.

Just got the bike back from the mechanic. What a difference, no more backfiring, loud exhaust noise, and the bike seems to have more power, and also I won't p**s off the neighbours at the little hours of the morning too.

Paid in total £69, this include some welding too
