I have the two toshiba recovery disks and the file system is NTFS not FAT32

How do I reformat drive C and reinstall XP?

Help please

Bang in your windows XP disc, select the boot menu (normally F12 on the flash screen) then boot from your XP disc. This should give you the option then to format the drive NTFS or FAT32 - then just follow the prompts on screen.

Get your basic configuration working, get on t'internet and get all the drivers / windows updates then bob's your uncle.

Kev...when you reload it, start with winders, then patch it until it cries (Sp2 for the USB support, the anti spyware beta etc etc) then before you put any other software on it get AV and Firewall in place.

That way, everything will be clean on top of it....some AV software (like that Norton crap that they still manage to sell to the gullible) really don't like going on after other progs.

PS I'd also reformat the drive, scandisk it and partition it before loading winders...it has all sorts of advantages (inc being able to defrag your swapfile which with only one partition you can't do and being able to defrag seperate drives while continuing to work)
