Got myself a Husky 610 that has been fitted with legal road tyres, a speedometer and lights. It came from the Uk where it was never registered either and hence no V5 or previous MOT certs. The previous owner gave me a Husky issued dating certificate to prove its year of manufacture. What do I need to do to get an Irish registration to put it on the road?

1st ring dealer and ask them for a vert telling you date of manufacture, model spec etc, all bikes have them its like a birth cert forbike. they will send it over. then if over a certail age you dont have pay any vat.but you may be hot with vrt but wont be much

so get the form, fill in the form on the revenue site, go to the tax office, they will check bike is ok to use on road (lights etc) and pay them cash

job done

im doing this at the moment, you need a a certificate of conformity, insurance for the bike with the vin number as the reg number, an mot with the vin number for the reg number,a few forms from the dvla and £55 in fees.
if you canT get a cert of conformity, you need to sva test it, which costs £85, from the dvla.

Cheers, I have that cert but it's from a uk dealer. Is this a problem?

no as long as it offical document. i have the forms some where as i was looking at doing this myself. what ages is the bike? if old be fine, if newish then can get hit with vat

but its handy enough just takes times and tax office can be a pain sometimes.

make sure have dipped lights full lights, brakes front and rear and indicator, i know indicator not a legal requirement but will be easier as some lads dont realise dont actually need it

Is there not changes introduced in the last 2/3 weeks. I think all cars and motorcycles have to be presented at a nct center for some kind of check before regestration can take place. I dont see why bikes are included but I think that is the case. JJH
