effects of 6th gear???

hi guys; can i chip in a few queries...? :p

1. how's the fuel consumption between the GS and GS adv 6th gear?
2. how's the vibes in 6th gear at 140km/h for both?

which do u think is more suitable for 2-up riding with 55% city
traffic, 30% highway (80-100km/h) and 15% long trips (140km/h)?

cheers,
kaz
:D

Hi Johnny,

Poetic license. But we really did lift the front wheel overtaking something on Sutton Bank, I just can't remember what!

Varadera Vs GS Vs Tiger

:( For my sins had a Varadera for 18 months, and Tigers for 3 years before that. (Both 99 injection Tigers. One I only had for a few months, replaced with another which I will not bore you with)
I agree with all the comments before us, the vara was brilliant in the following,
weather protection (add on MRA screen)
Seat comfort ( Two up knocks spots of the GS with stock seat)
Lights. Great.
Engine. Really a stonking bit of kit !
The downside was chain drive, handling, gobbles petrol, Poor finish compared to the big H normal standards. The add on also looked crap such s the really expensive cases. (To me).
I have no regrets changing to the Beemer and have at last found my true love ! Yes, i want a few bolt on bits as well, and too me the screen needs to be sorted and that will be done in the spring before I pile on some real miles. The handling on the GS is as we are all aware awesome !

The Tiger was crap two up ( at least for Mrs Trotts) and as a result would never contemplate a tour on it. She needed to get off every hour. The engine was also top drawer, although finish in general bottom of the pile. I traded my Tiger in about 3 years ago for the Vara. It is still in the dealers show room today !!! Hhhmm What do's that tell us . Once you have a Beemer GS you are hooked. Simply enjoy.

adv

richard.did you get gs adv blue and white as standard, cause its f.....g hoofing.cheers paul.

Nope - went for the quick option of black standard GS with a few xtras.

With the £600 saving I'll add some bits n' pieces, besides the seat on the standard GS is WAY high enough even though I'm well over 6 foot!! I don't thick I could cope with 900mm.

Took her into the mud yesterday and she coped admirably, shame they need cleaning really.

I have no recollection of the last time I cleaned my car, which certainly means well before the winter.

Are there any dirty buggers out there who are similarly careful with their bikes. Lets see some evidence.

gs adv

luke where did u get that adv,is that a std colour or a respray.

So, you don't clean your bike, Steve......The prosecution calls for Exhibit A, M'Lud.....

Wasn't me Mike. A big kid done it and ran away - honest (actually he went round the sweet shop with the 20p I gave him for doing it)

Steve.
