Regular Panniers and Adventure top box

Getting my Adventure in a few weeks and it comes with the regular black panniers and no top box.

Most of the time I anticipate using just a top box so....

1. Can you fit an Adventure top box (ally one) with the regular black panniers?

2. Does the Adventure top box take a standard full face lid? Looks a bit small to me...

you can buy the ally rack and boxes seperate...get rack and i think it is the right hand side box...fits rack and is a bit bigger. more useable - similar price

Repoman - the Adventure Top Box certainly takes a BMW full-face helmet as I got the salesman to demonstrate that for me at the NEC - he didn't know either. I'm also intending to go the same route. I got the panniers last year, but want to add the top box for this summer. I don't need the space, but it's somewhere to leave items a little more secure than the tank bag.

Repo...wouldn't a Givi or something look better with the sysytem cases??

Prolly cheaper than the ally box too.....and you can choose whatever size.

Fanum: yep a givi probably would look better with the standard panniers but I anticipate using just the top box most of the time which I reckon will look the biz with the silver bike.

Charles - thanks for the confirmation. Most of the time my top box just takes a chain (Abus Granit having had 2 thefts of the 650...) and that is then swopped for my Arai when I 'm parked up. Space requirements are consequently modest.

Having said that I can get 20 bottles of beer in the 650 top box.....
