Hi
I've read a lot on here about this but a pal's just bought some varios from ebay. What I'm not clear about is, do you need the original key to rekey them? I've got the instructions but just need clarification on that point please.
Cheers
Geoff

This is a useful thread:

You need 5 wafers which are either a 1,2 or a 3. You may be able to rearrange the wafers already in the lock but the chances are you'll be short of some wafers. You can just omit them temporarily. I have some spare of each number if you need any (I think you have to buy the whole lock otherwise).

I'm not sure how you remove the locks from varios...it is easy on the Alu panniers. Once removed, the rekeying takes 10 minutes.

just leave out the ones that dont fit, theres several video clips on how to recode the locks , easy peasy.:flag

Does anyone have a couple of the no.2 wafers/tumblers spare? Re-keyed mine today and after some successful swapping around I'm just short of the one size (for each pannier).

Stu.

Don't forget the one furthest from the key is different & doesn't retract when inserting key!
Otherwise you keep pulling the lock out with the key . . . or so I've heard? :augie
