Now definately need to change my vote. Since last post I have had to be recovered back to the dealer. I think it may be fuel problems, but time and the computer will tell all. One other thing. While waiting at the roadside noticed more black stuff around the gear box gasket area. This has been done once including a new clutch. I hope to goodness it doesn't need doing again!

Point well and truly noted Ian! Suprised no-one has pointed this out to me before. DOH! :bow I'm so dense
I have asked THE man to help fix. Stand by :thumb

thank you kindly :) and I may have found a GS to buy today....life is good!

Seems a pretty fair analysis. But let's face it, who actually buys a BM for reliability these days anyway?

Soon as Honda makes a shaftie bike with Paralever type suspension, BM are dead in the water.

I'd agree with that. I bought my 1200GS despite the fact it is a BMW, not because it was.

I suspect that if Honda make something similar, I will be very likely to change.
