I'm not sure if anyone attended this last year, but it is happening again this year.

Last year saw over 100 bikes attend, and we hope to increase it this year.

I look forward to seeing you there.

As I only saw one other GS, I may well have spoken to you.

I was wondering around with the Poppies.

It was a fantastic turnout, and the weather was perfect.

I was wondering around with the Poppies.

It was a fantastic turnout, and the weather was perfect.

My youngest son (Stephen) and I arrived about 10.45 and chose to park on the grass.
The turnout was good but sadly I didn't see any WW2 veterans, the congregation was mainly motorcyclists and Royal British Legion Riders Branch. The biggest group was the MODS - All types of scooters Lamberetta, Vespa etc. This was noted by the man of the cloth holding the service.
The Remembrance Service was good and a moving experience.

The only GS rider I noticed was after the event and he had a grey and rusty coloured Rallye type jacket and was riding on the grass heading north towards the metal gates.

Apart from my son, we never spoke to anyone.

Thank you for coming down.

Up until last year, when the Riders Branch started it, there was no 11:00 ceremony at the memorial.
The Official one is at 10:00.
Many older veterans go to 11:00 one at the Guildhall, which is the official Portsmouth one.

Saying that, there were a couple of WW2 veterans that I chatted to, as well as a few from more recent conflicts.
I also had a great chat with an American couple, the wife who was also a veteran of WW2, who were amazed at the turnout and praised the bikers.

The count was around 505 bikes.
HM Scooter Club usually rock up with over 100 scooters, so yes there was a high proportion.
We, the Riders Branch, managed about 50 bikes, from the local area.
The rest were made up of other clubs and non-associated riders.

The next charitable event for the calendar is "The Mary Rose Toy Run" on December 15th
(This is not organised by the RBLR, but we do provide marshals)
I will stick a post up when I get one sorted.

If you would like to learn more about the Royal British Legion Riders Branch, or even possibly join, please take a look at our website
