How long do you think it will take for me to get to thetford from the north side of cambridge??

I can get to Histon by car in about 30 to 40 mins out of busy times. A11/A14.

Me I will go for the beeb !
Apart from anything else Jim Bacon ( of the beeb ) is a radio ham and a good bloke
and one of the chaps who works on the Anglia TV weather set up is a Blackbird rider.. also a good bloke but I will take a radio ham over a bird owner any day ! LOL !!

Right you lot, this is the final plan.
Meet at 0900 at McD's Thetford. There's food
() and petrol available. Located on the southern most roundabout on the A11 Thetford bypass.
Meet up, chat, intros, brief safety lecture and drop of system explanation and off for 0930.
Ray S has very kindly volunteered to be back marker for the day. A thankless task which also means that he's last everywhere so give him a friendly wave and smile when you can.
We will be riding over fast A roads and dual carriageways, normal town and country roads, single track very narrow and twisty lanes, old very rough airfield perimiter tracks and runways.
A sort of circularish route and stopping briefly at the following locations. TR after the location indicates that there are toilets and refreshments available.
No TR = find tree, go thirsty.

Wendling Probably two mins silence here.

Shipdham
Watton
Deopham Green
Snetterton TR
Knettishall
Fersfield

Final update. Ray and I took a last trip around this afternoon and have now decided to miss out the Attlebridge section. Its well worth the visit but seriously eats into the time scale. Will include it a future runout.
For the earlybirds McD's opens at 06-30 and the petrol station at 08-00.

Shame about the puncture but contrary to what someone said after I left it was not self inflicted.. Twas not me spinning it up but Darrell !
I do not do spin ups simply cos I know my bloody luck
But yes, discovered quite quickly that a cruising speed of 25 to 30mph put enough spin on the wheel to sort of take at least some of the weight by artificial gravity sort of thing

Yep... thanks very much Noddy, Ray and every one for a great day... I am knacked now! did 300 miles today! and now any a*se hurts!! Time to invest in some gel pads for the seat!
Many thanks to all who turned out for the run, and to Ray for arriving last when ever we stopped. I will post up a ride report in the rideout section with a few photos and then you can all add your photos to include what I missed.

sorry I missed the ride -couldn't make it sadly.... looks like it was a great success.
Hope we can meet-up at some point (with my starter motor..!!)...failing that I might manage to leave it with Jaws sometime -need some ACF50 anyhow !

A great day Noddy and thanks for all the research that you (& Susan) did to locate the airfields and plan the route as well as leading it of course.
I think there was about 150 8th Airforce airfields in your book for Norfolk & Suffolk, so we only have another 140 to do!
I quite enjoyed being Tail-End-Charly today and was very happy to help out. It was also nice to meet a number of new (to me anyway) GSers and look forward to seeing you all at the next East Anglian rideout
