How long do you think it will take for me to get to thetford from the north side of cambridge??
Date: 11 November 2007
Time: All Day
Location: IWM Duxford
Honouring the fallen from the First and Second World Wars and subsequent conflicts.
To honour those who served and gave their lives, a service of remembrance and wreath-laying ceremony will take place at the Museum, to which all visitors are welcome. The chapel will also remain open throughout the day for visitors wishing to seek a quiet moment of reflection. All are welcome to attend.
The Service of Remembrance will be at 12.15pm
Family activities will take place in AirSpace from approximately 10.30am with the opportunity for children to make their own poppy and stained glass window to commemorate remembrance. There will also be a small temporary exhibition of images and quotes about war, with the opportunity for families to add their own thoughts.
Admission to Duxford is free for all on this day.
I can get to Histon by car in about 30 to 40 mins out of busy times. A11/A14.
Just wondered if your aware of this ? /QUOTE]
Thanks for that, missed it when originally posted.
Our plan is to go and visit just a small selection of local airfields, stand on the runways and show our respect in the places where so many took off never to return.
Has the added advantage of getting on the GS and having a good run through GS type roads, rough perimiter tracks and runways.
I'm certain that Duxford will be a very moving and memorable occasion please post up a report.

Right you lot, this is the final plan....Meet at 0900 at McD's Thetford. There's food() and petrol available. Located on the southern , its not intended to be Cenotaph serious.
ChasMiller and I will see you on Sunday.Richard
