remote bleeder

hi guys from down under new to GSer's, the hex nut in my remote bleeder for the clutch has started to strip is there any other way I can take it off with out having to cut the line?

See the flats on the end section, 13mm and 11mm - it unbolts.

You can replace the bleeder without cutting the pipe, think from memory? It has locktite on it and I applied a little heat and 2 sets of vise-grips and replaced the end with a bleed nipple.

Hi Shrek,
Not done this but it has worked on other lost causes when dealing with brakepipes etc, try a bit of heat on the casing as a last resort then tap the local area while using molegrips or similar. (heat gun is recommended - if you are worried about using a blowtorch fire/damaging the surface)

More helpful advice - Dip it in a cup of boiling water.

You know how alergic these things are to water.

cheers guys, I for got locktite is used will try the hot water.. 1st as I've only got a gas set will post up results later

cheers Steptoe it worked using the boiling water , & got the end section off but the hex screw in the end had been rounded by it's last owner so will dig that out at a later date, or just get a new one, but I now have a clutch with fresh fluid
