I am looking at getting a Gopro 4 silver.

But want to have a remote control so I can start recording / take a still without have to stop.

Gopro do one but it gets bad reviews.

Can anyone recommend anything please

Many thanks.

I bought one last June and it worked fine. Didn't think to read any reviews wanted one so bought one. Needed it in a hurry and all the cheaper ones on line where waiting for delivery, so ended up buying direct. Which ended up quite a pleasant experience, helpful staff, very quick delivery and in the end not much more. What issues should I be looking for? Or where the issues with the mark one version, mine is the mark two. There are a lot of much cheaper copies out there, pays your money!

Thanks fantic156,

Been told the battery on the camera will only last about 45 mins when connected to the Gopro control.

i use my phone with gopro app to view media turn it off/on works perfect, just came back from snowboarding, used it all week no issues

The battery in the remote will not last 45m.
The camera will with the battery pack.
I hardwired both. Cable tied the remote to the handlebars.
Much better and the camera stays cool without the battery.

Have used both the remote and iPhone app when using the GoPro on the bike. Battery life of the remote is short so i power it via a 12v cigarette socket and sub adapter. The other issue with the remote is that you cannot always be sure that it has turned on the camera correctly as I found the link to the GoPro very inconsistent. I found using the iPhone app much more user friendly. My phone is held is a case on the handlebars, is charged via cigarette socket/sub lead, and with the app it gives you a view of where the camera is pointing (with a couple of seconds lag), so you can set the positioning of the GoPro up quite easily. You can also clearly see when it is recording. In my view the iPhone app is your best choice.
