I realise there's a sticky about screens but I'm getting stuck on the actual fitment. I've bgt Nippy Normans dark screen http://www.nippynormans.com/prodinfo.asp?number=WDE-CD1200GS-XT&variation=&aitem=8&mitem=8 but I'm finding removing the existing screen a bit of a handful. The instructions read "remove the instrument panel if you have the time." I can't reach the bolts securing the screen on the inside.

So am I being a big girls blouse or does anyone have any tips for me?

otherwise its 1-800-STEPTOE

removing the stock screen?...

trick is to loosen and adjust screen to the lowest position...
use a 10mm spanner to grab the nut...
turn the black plastic end until the nut comes off, try not to drop it...
keeping the black pastic bit up against the screen, turn until the threaded spacer is at the very end of the the bolt where you can easily grab it and screw it off...
pull the bolt out, careful of losing the non threaded metal spacer in the screen...
repeat on the other side...
done...

That's the way.

No other way. Definately don't remove the instrument panel

The tip about not dropping the "blind nut" that covers the end of the thread is a good one. I know. :o :o :spitfire

Also, be careful and note which way round the placcy bits that screws on the front go into. There is a right and wrong way.

Skippy.

True, but they are marked "left" and "right", least they are on my bike. Bit that intrigued me was, is that looking at it from the front when you fit them, or........

Much appreciated guys.
